Our Story

Aki, my first dog, came into my life on January 31st, 2019. He’s a Japanese Akita, and bringing him home was the beginning of a journey I never expected.

Before bringing him home, I spent quite a while searching for what I thought would be the perfect dog collar. I looked online for all kinds of options, but eventually ended up buying a simple, solid-color nylon webbing collar from PetSmart. It worked just fine, but I always wished there were more fun and personal options for everyday wear.

It wasn’t until I developed an interest in sewing machines that I realized I could make dog collars myself.

What followed was an exciting, and sometimes exhausting, journey of learning new skills and sourcing materials. I experimented with different types of nylon webbing, cotton fabrics, sliders, D-rings, buckles, and other hardware, trying different combinations until I found materials and constructions I felt good about using.

It took me nearly a year before I felt confident enough to list my first collar for sale.

Looking back, every bit of the process was worth it.

I truly love seeing these handmade collars come together, and even more, I love seeing them on the dogs who wear them. I hope each one brings a little extra personality to your pup and a smile to your face when you see them wearing it.
